Awek is slang in Malay for the English word “girl”. So what does awek cantik means? It basically mean pretty girl.

You must be wondering why I selected the above name as my blog main URL. I wanted something to be different. Most blogs will used something like pretty girls.blogspot or other simlar phrases. However in order to stand out from the crowd just a little bit, I decided to use the phrase “awek cantik” as my main blog URL.

One of the main reason I created this blog was to do a little experiement. I would like to see how well I can rank online from the search term such as awek, awek comel, awek jelita , etc. Although this term is not widely used in the English language, people with dual language capability will still search for this term.

Let’s say that in 1 month there are 1,000,000 searches for any of the above terms. That could mean 1,000,000 possible hits on a blog or website that has these terms. How could one benefit from this?

The key to survival of any blog or website is traffic. Without traffic a blog is just dead. It’s just a site that you constantly update with contents or images. Can you imagine if you manage to persuade the 20 percent of these 1,000,000 million people to visit your blog? That a huge amount of traffic. Once you have enough traffic, you can then start to monetize your blog to make money.

There are several ways to make money online such as selling affiliated products or even monetizing your blogs with adverts or the every popular Google Adsense. The concept is simple enough, the more visitors you have the higher the possibility that someone will click on something. That in return translates to extra income for the blog owner.

Sounds simple enough right? Well that is far from the truth. There is a still a lot more things that needs to be done in order to ensure that your blog is fully optimized such as search engine optimization or better known as SEO. You will also need to ensure that your blog have sufficient backlinks so that major search engine such as Google will assigned a higher page rank to your blog.

Well I think that’s it for the moment. We will just have to wait and see the future and the direction of this blog. In the mean time I would suggest that, you sit back, relax and enjoy pictures of all the awek cantik.
